Protesters rallied outside the hotel hosting the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) during Mitt Romney’s speech on Friday. Private security guards responded, and at times even threatened to arrest attendees who were observing the protest.
Victoria Jackson, the former SNL actress, author of the song “There’s A Communist Living In The White House” and conservative activist, was on the scene to watch the “angry” “communists.”
D.C. police tried to keep protestors off the hotel’s property as private security forced CPAC members observing the protests back inside. A handful of protesters tried to make their way into Romney’s speech and conduct a silent protest but were apparently unable to get into the ballroom. They later returned to the street.
