It’s Super Tuesday; ten states hold their primary contests today. TPM will have live updates, results, and analysis. Here are ten things you need to know.

  • Poll shows Obama way ahead of GOP field among Latino voters: A Fox News Latino poll Monday shows Latino voters favor President Obama over any of the GOP candidates by 6 to 1.
  • President Obama to hold press conference Tuesday: President Obama will hold his first news conference in several months Tuesday afternoon, while most of the media’s attention is on the GOP primary. The White House didn’t specify the topic of the conference.
  • Santorum to address AIPAC: Rick Santorum will leave the trail for Washington, D.C. Tuesday to address the AIPAC conference today in what his campaign is billing as a “major foreign policy address.” A spokesperson said: Rick felt “he needed to attend the event in person as a sign to the world, that if elected, politics will never trump his Presidential responsibility.”
  • Poll shows majority of Americans support Obama’s apology to Karzai: The GOP candidates, particularly Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, have gone after the President over his apology to Afghan President Hamid Karzai following a Quran-burning incident that sparked violent protests in Afghanistan. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Monday shows a majority of Americans support the apology, 56% to 23%.
  • Santorum continues to hit Romney on health care: For several days now, Santorum’s main attack against Romney has been over health care and that an op-ed from 2009 shows he supported a federal individual mandate. On Monday, he said this makes Romney, “the weakest candidate we could possibly put forward on the most important issue of today.”
  • Bill Clinton to join Obama at fundraisers: Bill Clinton has agreed to attend fundrasiers with President Obama in the coming months in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, Bloomberg reports. The New York fundraiser will include attendees from the financial services industry.
  • Independent former Gov. jumps into Maine Senate race: Former Maine Gov. Angus King, an independent, declared late Monday that he would run for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Olympia Snowe. King’s announcement makes it much tougher for democrats to pick up what had been thought a winnable seat.
  • Gingrich campaigns in Georgia and Alabama: Newt Gingrich will begin his morning with events in Georgia, before addressing the AIPAC conference by satellite, and then campaign in Alabama before returning to Atlanta to watch the Super Tuesday results come in. He’ll spend the rest of the week campaigning in Alabama, Mississippi, and Kansas.
  • Santorum to Ohio: Rick Santorum returns to Ohio for his watch party in Steubenville. He has no other events scheduled for today.
  • Paul campaigns in North Dakota: Ron Paul has been keeping his head down lately, campaigning in smaller states where he thinks he has a chance to do well, including Alaska, Idaho, and North Dakota. He has a campaign stop Tuesday in North Dakota.
