Mitt Romney has lined up a handsome collection of Republican endorsements. But Jon Stewart on Monday couldn’t help noticing: they’re not all that enthusiastic. “Romney’s gonna be the nominee, everybody’s decided. What they haven’t really decided is why,” he said.
There was former President George H.W. Bush’s endorsement, where Romney sat staring at the Bushes, almost like he was holding them hostage. And before that House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) endorsed Romney on Fox and Friends, urging the party to coalesce around Romney and get the primary over already.
“We have voted enough,” Stewart mocked. “This is presidential politics. Fake it better.”
