Rubio’s Lead Narrows In Florida Senate Race Poll

Challenger Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-FL) shows signs of closing in on incumbent Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) in the latest poll of the U.S. Senate race in Florida by Monmouth University.

Rubio leads in the race by just two points, 47-45, among likely Florida voters in the Senate race.

His lead has dropped since Monmouth last polled Florida in August, where Rubio led his Democratic challenger by five points, 48-43.

The Monmouth University poll was conducted Sept. 16-19 among 400 likely Florida voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate election in Florida shows Rubio leading Murphy, 49.5 to 45.2.
