Quinnipiac Poll Finds GOPer Ernst Jumping Ahead With 4-Point Lead

A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found Iowa state Sen. Joni Ernst (R) leading Rep. Bruce Braley, the Democratic nominee for Senate in the race, 49 percent to 45 percent among likely voters.

Another 5 percent remain undecided, the poll found.

The new Quinnipiac poll’s findings are something of a reversal from two previous polls from Loras College and CBS/NYT/YouGov poll which found Braley ahead and the two candidates tied, respectively.

A previous Quinnipiac poll found Ernst leading Braley 48 percent to 46 percent.

The new Quinnipiac poll was conducted from Oct. 22 to Oct. 27 among 817 likely voters. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

The TPM Polltracker average finds Ernst leading Braley by 1.6 points.
