Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is now leading former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a new poll of likely Democratic Iowa caucus participants.

Sanders polled at 41 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Thursday. While this remains within the margin of error, it marks the first time Sanders has bypassed Clinton among likely Democratic voters in Iowa.

In July Quinnipiac found Clinton leading Sanders by 19 points.

This is the second state in which Sanders edged out Clinton. The first being New Hampshire.

Vice President Joe Biden polled at 12 percent, according to the new poll.

The poll was conducted among 832 likely Iowa Democratic caucus participants by live phone calls via landlines and cell phones from Aug. 27 to Sept. 8. The margin of error was plus or minus 3.4 percent.
