Hillary Clinton jumps ahead of Donald Trump by 10 points in the latest national poll of likely voters from Quinnipiac University.
Quinnipiac’s new national poll shows Clinton ahead of Trump, 51 to 41. This marks an eight-point increase in the former Secretary of State’s lead over Trump since Quinnipiac polled at the end of June.
When third party candidates are included in the poll, Clinton leads by seven points, 45-38, followed by Libertarian Gary Johnson at 10 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 4 percent.
In the last iteration of Quinnipiac’s national poll, from late June, Clinton led by two points, 42-40. In a four-way race, Clinton still led by two points, 39-37, with Johnson polling at 8 percent and Stein at 4 percent.
The poll was conducted by Quinnipiac University via live interviews from Aug. 18-24. The sample included 1,498 likely voters nationally and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percent.
