Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) falls two points behind Democratic challenger Katie McGinty in a new Bloomberg/Selzer poll of the race to keep his seat as U.S. Senator for Pennsylvania.
The U.S. Senate election in Pennsylvania has been closely followed for its close polls and is currently marked as a tossup on TPM’s Senate Scoreboard.
McGinty, a former member of the Bill Clinton administration, leads the race, 47-45 among Pennsylvania likely voters.
McGinty held a larger four-point lead in a recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll of the state, but a Quinnipiac poll released early this month showed the incumbent senator leading by eight points.
The Bloomberg Politics poll was conducted via live interview by Selzer & Company from Oct. 7-11 among 806 likely Pennsylvania voters, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate election in Pennsylvania shows a tossup, with Toomey leading McGinty, 44 to 43.8.
