A new poll by Mitch Research & Communications Inc on behalf of the Fox news affiliate in Detroit finds Rep. Gary Peters (D-MI) completely crushing Republican opponent Terri Lynn Land in the Michigan race for U.S. Senate.

The poll finds Peters (pictured) leading Land 49 percent to 36 percent among likely voters with only a few weeks before the midterm elections. It’s one of the most promising polls there have been for Peters this cycle and underscores the point that the Michigan Senate race has slipped away from Republicans.

Earlier in the cycle, Republicans were arguing that Michigan could be a possible pickup with Land. But since February, the TPM Polltracker average has shown an increasing lead for Peters.

The Mitchell Research poll was conducted among 1,178 likely voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.86 percentage points.

The TPM Polltracker average gives Peters a 8.2 point lead over Land.

  1. Land is afraid to debate the issues, afraid to talk to the media and has lost the support of fellow Republicans, and is only down by 13? The GOP has a strong grip on a lot of very stupid people.

Land is spending alot of her own money. But soon the Koch Bros and company will start to pull their ads–unfortunately, that money will go to Rick Snyder or to Republican candidates out-of-state.
