Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a commanding lead over rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in a Monmouth University poll of likely Iowa Democratic caucusgoers released Tuesday.

She led the Hawkeye State by 41 points — 65 points to Sander’s 24.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley polled at 5 percent while Harvard professor Lawrence Lessig polled at 1 percent.

Sanders and Clinton were also the clear second choices, 59 percent and 68 percent respectively. O’Malley reached 19 percent as a pick for second choice.

“We now have a two-person race, but one of those competitors has just pulled very far ahead,” Patrick Murray, director of the university’s polling institute, said in a news release.

The next Democratic debate is scheduled for Nov. 14 in Des Moines, Iowa and set to air on CBS at 9 p.m. EST.

The poll was conducted among 400 voters likely to attend Democratic caucus in Iowa from Oct. 22 to 25 by live land line and cell phone interviews. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.9 percent.
