A poll released Wednesday showed that Donald Trump nationally had nearly triple support of his nearest Republican rival following last week’s first GOP debate.
The online survey by GOP-affiliated Echelon Insights showed the billionaire real estate mogul with 29 percent of the vote nationally among likely Republican primary voters.
Former neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson came in second place with 10 percent, while Sen. Marco Rubio (FL) and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina were tied with 9 percent each.
Despite Trump’s high numbers, the poll showed a slight dip for the Donald from a survey conducted by Echelon before the debate. That poll showed Trump with the support of 32 percent of likely GOP primary voters nationwide.
The latest poll surveyed 848 likely Republican primary voters using Google Consumer Surveys from August 10 to August 11. The margin of error was plus or minus 3.4 percent.
@SaraJerde Traditionally calculated it’s +/- 3.4% but people question whether MOE can be used for online polls. See: https://t.co/O7W65K0Bpd

Does anyone at TPM remember Rick Perry leading the polls in the 2012 election cycle?
Yeah, Perry did that once, too.
We’ll know Trump is serious when he starts wearing glasses.
This shit show is the only good thing the Tea Party has ever given us.
This may explain why we now have Bush talking about Iraq and Walker talking about secret emails. I used to think it doesn’t get any better but it does!
Carson is in second place?!?
