Trump And Carson In Virtual Tie In CNN Poll Of Iowa GOPers

Businessman Donald Trump and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson were in a virtual tie for the number one spot in the eyes of likely Iowa Republican cacusgoers in a poll by CNN/ORC released Friday.

Trump led the poll at 25 percent while Carson followed closely at 23 percent. The margin of error among the GOP sample was plus or minus 4 points, putting the two men in dead heat for supporters.

Sen. Marco Rubio (FL) polled third at 13 percent while Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) polled at 11 percent. No other candidate polled above 10 percent.

The party’s fourth debate is set to be held Tuesday, with an undercard with four participants at 7 p.m. ET, and a main event with eight participants at 9 p.m. ET.

The poll was conducted among 548 people likely to attend the Republican presidential caucus from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4.
