Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by double digits in the latest Monmouth University poll of Colorado voters, following the first presidential debate.
The poll showed Clinton ahead by 11 points, 49-38, with Libertarian Gary Johnson following at 7 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 3 percent.
Clinton comfortably sat 13 points ahead of Trump, 48-35 when Monmouth University last polled Colorado voters in mid-July, with Johnson at 5 percent and Stein at 3 percent.
Since then, the race in Colorado tightened this past month. When CNN/ORC polled likely Colorado voters just before the first presidential debate last Monday, Clinton led by just two points, 49-47, in the head-to-head race, and Trump led by one point, 42-41, with Johnson at 13 percent and Stein at 3 percent with third-party candidates included.
The Monmouth University poll was conducted Sept. 29-Oct. 2 via live telephone interview among 400 likely Colorado voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.
TPM’s PollTracker Average for the Colorado general election shows Clinton leading Trump, 50.7 to 40.9.
