Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) leads by four points over his challenger, Democrat Deborah Ross, in a Suffolk University poll of the U.S. Senate race in North Carolina.
Burr leads by four points, 41-37, with Libertarian candidate Sean Haugh following at 4 percent.
A recent CBS/YouGov poll showed the Democratic challenger and former North Carolina representative Ross ahead by one point, 41-40. Suffolk University had not previously polled this race.
The Suffolk poll was conducted over the phone from Sept. 5-7, among 500 likely North Carolina voters, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent.
TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate election in North Carolina shows Burr leading Ross, 39.4 to 36.6.
Very tight race where every vote counts.
No wonder Republicans in NC are fighting so hard to restrict minorities and young people’s right to vote.
Isn’t the conventional wisdom that a sitting elected official should be much higher in the polls at this point in the race? Plus, the margin of error puts the race basically neck-and-neck. That’s bad for Burr and may give Ross a smoother ride on Hillary’s coattails .
Yea I think the majority of NCers lean right. Enough to vote for Burr but not enough to vote Trump. Although I’m hoping Mccrory will lose as governor…
