Donald Trump holds a five-point advantage among likely voters in the swing state Ohio, according to a new Bloomberg poll.
The swing state is currently in a tossup, according to TPM’s Electoral Scoreboard.
Trump leads the race in the Buckeye State, 48-43, when facing Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head election match.
The businessman’s five-point lead holds up in the four-way race, leading Clinton, 44-39, with Libertarian Gary Johnson behind at 10 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 3 percent.
Bloomberg has not previously polled Ohio voters, but a CBS/YouGov poll released this month indicated a seven-point Clinton lead in Ohio, 46-39, with Johnson at 7 percent and Stein at 2 percent.
This poll was conducted by Selzer & Company for Bloomberg Politics from Sept. 9-12. The survey included 802 likely Ohio voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
TPM’s PollTracker Average for the election in Ohio shows a tossup, with Trump leading Clinton, 45.9 to 44.5.
Well…shit.
From what I have read, this was a Republican-friendly sample. Looks like their electorate differs from that of Quinnipiac and CBS News/YouGov. But so as not to be accused of unskewing, it does seem that Ohio will be very tight.
I am +5 with someone who I totally hate (Bloomberg). In reality, I am sure I am +30.
Someone on the Tweeter opined that the crosstabs read more like Indiana.
This is before the wobble and basket so not sure what to make of this. I guess, just throw it on the pile and let the average work itself out.
