Most Americans expect Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to compete with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in the general election, according to a poll released Monday.
The CNN/ORC poll showed that 85 percent of voters nationwide thought Clinton would be the Democratic nominee and 84 percent of the same group said that they thought Trump would be the GOP nominee.
The poll showed that most voters nationwide have expected Clinton to be the nominee since the end of July, but never with so much support. The same is true for Trump.
The poll surveyed 878 registered voters and 12 people who planned on registering to vote by phone from April 28 to May 1. The margin of error was plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
Do most Americans also think the sky is blue? I mean is there any way that Hillary or Trump could not be the nominees?
I think the other 15% went to Trump University.
I was really gobsmacked by the latest announcement from Bernie and the Sanders’ campaign that he & they would contest the nomination if it is Hillary. I thought he had accepted that he would not win the nomination and would work to get his ideas incorporated into the convention. Instead, a scorched earth finish to the campaign. Thanks a bunch, Bernie. More ammunition for Trump to use against Hillary and Trump has a lot of angry followers who would be happy to be joined by angry Bernie supporters.
Stop it, Bernie!
Well now, apparently, we will have to go through a contested convention to find out.
