President Donald Trump said that it’s a “very dangerous thing” for social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook to ban certain users’ accounts, since “that could be you tomorrow,” according to a Monday Reuters report.

He had tweeted similar criticism after platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter took action against Infowars’ Alex Jones, saying that certain companies were “totally discriminating against Republican/Conservative voices.”

Per Reuter, Trump appeared as a guest on Infowars in December 2015.

You would think that an opponent of regulation would support the choices of social media companies. Don’t they know better than government bureaucrats? Shouldn’t the market decide? And maybe they have a sincerely held religious belief that prohibits them from participating in the dissemination of hate speech. I know it’s not a wedding cake, but that might need to be protected as well.
Besides, with the massive majorities of people who hold such beliefs, I’m sure that these folks could create and maintain social media platforms of their own. Let the market decide, Donnie!
