President Donald Trump signaled to his inner circle that he doesn’t think his legal woes will end when special counsel Robert Mueller’s report drops, The Daily Beast reported Monday.
According to two sources familiar with the conversations who spoke to the Daily Beast, Trump told members of his outside legal team that he wants them to stick around, even after the report drops. Trump is particularly concerned about the Southern District of New York’s investigations into himself and his former close associates.
There’s been mixed reporting in recent days surrounding when Mueller’s report will be handed over to the Justice Department and the new Attorney General William Barr has waffled on how he intends to handle it release. Trump told reporters that whether the report is made public is solely up to Barr.
No worries, Donnie, they’ll have adjoining cells.
I’d say that’s a rational and prudent decision. Bra-fucking-vo, Scoopie.
Well, that’s a kind of pivot, I guess.
Hope his lawyers are doing this on a pre-paid basis… Otherwise it’ll end up being Pro Bono…
This is the first outward sign that Trump knows he is going down hard. I was wondering when he would start to crack.
