WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says he’ll announce next week the site and date for the second summit he’s planning to hold with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un around the end of February.
Vietnam has been considered as a venue, along with Thailand, Hawaii and Singapore.
Trump tells reporters in the Oval Office that his administration is making what he calls “tremendous” progress on North Korea.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says he’s sent a team to Asia to “lay the foundations” for steps toward denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Despite that optimism, Trump’s director of national intelligence, Dan Coats, told Congress on Tuesday that intelligence information doesn’t support the idea that Kim will eliminate his nuclear weapons or the capacity for building more.
What? Kim didn’t give him ALL the bones?
Makes sense. The first one was so successful. It warranted medallions and everything.
I bet he gives up all our troops in Korea in exchange for a big parade. Maybe they’ll strike another medallion.
This is a huge propaganda win for Kim. He gets “legitimized” in the eyes of his subjects and reduces the chance of a coup because he can rightly claim to have outsmarted the US.

Well, it’s 45 years too late but Cadet Bonespurs will finally be going to Vietnam.
