In the same vein as candidate Trump’s calls for violence against protesters who interrupted his campaign rallies, President Donald Trump on Tuesday questioned why dissenters are allowed to “just keep screaming.”

During an interview with The Daily Caller in the Oval Office, Trump told the conservative news site that he was “amazed” by what took place during the confirmation hearing for his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Tuesday, when 70 people were arrested by Capitol Police for demonstrating.

“I don’t know why they don’t take care of a situation like that,” he told the Caller. “I think it’s embarrassing for the country to allow protestors. You don’t even know what side the protestors are on. … To allow somebody to stand up and scream from the top of their lungs — and nobody does anything about it — is, frankly … I think it is an embarrassment.”
