WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House has set the date for the first state visit of President Donald Trump’s administration.

Spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Trump will be hosting French President Emmanuel Macron (eh-mahn-yoo-EHL’ mah-KROHN’) on April 24.

Trump was the first U.S. president in decades to close his first year in office without welcoming a fellow world leader for a state visit.

The designation means Macron will be welcomed to the White House with a South Lawn arrival ceremony. He’ll also be the honored guest at a glitzy state dinner.

Trump was Macron’s special guest at a Bastille Day celebration last year that coincided with the 100th anniversary of the U.S. entry into World War I. Trump has said he wants to hold a similar parade in Washington late this year.

Another day with Trump embarrassing all of America.

Now, is this the best chocolate cake your seen our what?

I know, that was pretty weak snark. Does anyone else have Trump outrage fatigue? I do. I can barely muster the desire to read TPM anymore. No joke–it’s hard for me to care much about what he does, or read about the latest head-on-desk idiocy from him.

  2. I bet Macron is looking forward to it. It will be a good lesson in how to deal with somebody with shit-for-brains. Maybe they can step up the date for the military parade and really impress him. I expect Ivanka will be giving him googoo eyes like she did with Trudeau.

I’d like nothing better then to see Macron bury The Donald

That tends to happen when nobody will accept the invitation. I hope Macron understands le Slime de l’orange is very hard to wash off.

But since he’s coming, maybe Manny will fulfill my wettest dream: When Cadet Bone Spurs gives him that signature hand-yank he goes with it and knocks Tubby squarely on his fat ass.

“Désolé, putain d’idiot, j’ai perdu mon équilibre.”

I bet he really regrets that invite.
