TOPSHOT - Security personal stand before shoes and toys left at the Tornillo Port of Entry where minors crossing the border without proper papers have been housed after being separated from adults, June 21, 2018 in Tornillo, Texas. - President Donald Trump ordered an end to the separation of migrant children from their parents on the US border June 20, 2018, reversing a tough policy under heavy pressure from his fellow Republicans, Democrats and the international community. The spectacular about-face comes after more than 2,300 children were stripped from their parents and adult relatives after illegally crossing the border since May 5 and placed in tent camps and other facilities, with no way to contact their relatives. The Trump administration says it expects to begin reunifying about 2,500 children ages 5 and older with their parents on Friday after they were separated at the border.

The Justice Department says in a court filing in San Diego that the reunifications are expected to begin Friday and occur “on a rolling basis” up to a July 26 court-imposed deadline.

The reunifications will occur at six to eight unidentified U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement locations.

The administration says it is using truncated procedures to verify parentage and perform background checks. It says those procedures raise child safety concerns but are being used to comply with court orders.

  1. Of COURSE they will - roflmfao . Just a bunch of wankers .

  2. Well they are still separating children from their parents, even after Trump signed an EO saying they would stop.

What do authoritarians have against birth certificates. Why do they think all brown people speak Spanish. Who is teaching DHS on how to vet and verify documents.

Still have not heard what happens to children who age out of children detention centers.

and, if they hit about 50% of the 2,000+ reunifications, they’ll claim they did what they could and declare success. The rest of the families are just collateral damage, I guess. My only regret about yesterday’s indictments is that they’ve taken the focus off of this issue.

  4. Republican conservative arguments against abortion no longer have any validity.

Even if you accept their contention that abortion is murder, what Trump has done and how they’ve rationalized Trump’s sadism against 5 year olds is far, far worse.

Conservatives don’t have values. Only results.

  5. Trump admin (Sessions, Azar, trump) need to have some pay back for holding minor kids as political hostages (waves arms in rage) Some time in jail sleeping on cold concrete with a space blanket and a bag of chips would be a start.
