NEW YORK (AP) — David Petraeus’ former paramour says “it was a bit of a shocker” to learn the retired four-star general was being considered by President-elect Donald Trump for a cabinet position.

Former military officer Paula Broadwelltold CBS News in an interview broadcast Thursday that she was happy for him because he “should be able to go on with his life.” She says she hasn’t been allowed to move on with hers since the affair became known publicly in 2012.

Petraeus pleaded guilty last year to giving Broadwell classified information while she was writing his biography. Broadwell wasn’t charged, but the U.S. Army demoted and reprimanded her.

Broadwell has declined to speak with The Associated Press since it reported last month that the Army is conducting a new leaks investigation related to the sex scandal.

The moment when either she or Petraeus do the same amount of time as Chelsea Manning or even Mike Vick, is when I’ll start shedding tears.

  2. The notion that a member of the Cabinet would need to notify their probation officer about travel plan is nuts. Even more so if he is being considered for Sec of State, which would entail substantial overseas traffic. I’m trying to imagine the reaction if Obama was considering such a thing.

  3. I’m am certain I am not interested in anything she has to say.

  4. Why be shocked? Patraeus is a convicted criminal who should’ve been jailed. Instead he got to keep his $220,000/yr. pension plus all his other military benefits for him and his family. He’s a perfect fit for the Klown’s Keystone Kabinet. It’s called failing upwards.

Dear Paula, It was a bit of a shocker for me, too. It shouldn’t be, though, as it appears the Trump cabinet will be a cadre of billionaires, crazies, criminals and unqualified misfits.
