Mike Pence Releases Summary Of His Medical History

Matt Hamilton/The Daily Citizen Mike Pence speaks Tuesday at the Dalton Convention Center.

Donald Trump’s running mate has released a letter from his doctor summarizing his medical history and results of a July physical exam.

Mike Pence’s doctor writes that the 57-year-old Pence is in “excellent general and cardiovascular health.” Dr. Michael Busk says Pence has a healthy lifestyle and can maintain his “high level of professional work” and physical activity programs “without limitations.”

The doctor also says that Pence had basal cell carcinomas — skin cancer — removed from his face in 2002 and 2010. He also had surgery in August 2015 to repair a hernia.

The doctor says the only medication Pence takes is Claritin for seasonal allergies. He does not smoke or drink alcohol, has diet-controlled heartburn and exercises four times a week.

  1. Hmm. No mention of his last colonoscopy that found a giant polyp that turned out to be his head.

The Man From Glad is the new hermetically sealed guy to have a beer with. Not!

  3. No mention of the lobotomy?

  4. A polyp can be removed, but he will never be able to pull his head out of his ass.

  5. If Clinton had had two cancerous cells removed AND had a hernia, the conspiracy theory folks would have her on death’s door. Most of our candidates are over 50, and most people over 50 have had something minor that could have become major by that time. I’m 59, and I’ve had two knee ops and kidney stones…but my doc says I’m in above average health.

I guess I’m glad that Trump hit a trifecta yesterday–clearly tricking the press into making an informercial for his hotel (they seemed to have gotten angriest when Trump’s people wouldn’t let a producer for the pool report on the tour), making no sense and clearly LYING about HRC and birtherism, and then going out that night and basically threatening the other candidate’s life.

The press coverage of Trump, if he loses, will be a big, big story that the press will fail to learn from (reminiscent of the story of the press in the Bush years discussed in a book called Lapdogs). But if he WINS, the press coverage will be more than a story; it will the lynchpin that led to something that potentially could end American democracy. And the feckless press will blame Clinton for their shortcomings because they just didn’t like a person who didn’t like them after they hounded her over every non-story they could find and refused to accept “no charges filed” at the end of every trumped-up investigation.

HRC needs to figure out some way to get some warm, touchy-feely coverage from the press or she’ll NEVER get out from under their negative spin, leaving the GOP plenty of room to refuse to let her govern. How can she heal her press relations?
