Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), speaking to reporters with a smirk, characterized the heated Oval Office meeting between President Trump, Democratic leadership and Vice President Pence as “spirited” and said he hopes the border wall funding showdown doesn’t lead to a shutdown.
“I hope that’s not where we end up,” he said. “I understand it was a rather spirited meeting that we all watched. But I’d still like to see a smooth ending here and I haven’t given up hope that that’s what we’ll have.”

Tired of cleaning up after you, McConnell. Do your job, convince the racist criminal it’s time to resign.
“I hope that’s not where we end up,” he said. “Turtles can’t even climb walls."
Never mind “watched” — why wasn’t he there?
Trump’s so broke, he couldn’t even rent it.
Yertle the Turtle can ensure no shutdown by requiring his caucus to vote for the bipartisan bill by such a margin that they can override Trump’s veto.
