During a rare interview with Sean Hannity on Monday night, White House senior adviser Jared Kushner said his father-in-law would make the “right choice” about his new chief of staff “when he’s ready.”

“The President will make the right choice for chief of staff when he’s ready, and hopefully he’ll choose somebody he’s got great chemistry with, great relationship with, who will help him navigate the next couple of years through all of the good opportunities that emerge to keep pushing forward,” Kushner said.

Since Trump’s top pick to replace John Kelly — Nick Ayers, chief of staff for Vice President Mike Pence — declined his job offer, Trump has been scrambling to find a replacement. Trump was reportedly “super pissed” about Ayers decision to leave the administration since he was banking on the thirty-something to replace Kelly, who he’s reportedly not on speaking terms with.
