WASHINGTON (AP) — The No. 3 Senate Democrat is disclosing that he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Senator Chuck Schumer was diagnosed several weeks ago. His disclosure Monday comes amid furor over Hillary Clinton’s own pneumonia diagnosis.
In response to questions from The Associated Press, Schumer spokesman Matt House says in a statement that Schumer was diagnosed with pneumonia and took antibiotics per doctor’s order, and also kept a lighter schedule. House says, “His doctor has pronounced him all cleared up and he’s feeling much better.”
Schumer was present at Sunday’s Sept. 11 memorial where Clinton collapsed. Her staff later disclosed the pneumonia diagnosis.
The 65-year-old Schumer put out a statement about chatting with Clinton at the event, but did not disclose his own condition.

I’m not sure what the situation is in D.C. or the rest of the country, but here in S. CA there is a nasty cold bug going around. A lot of people I know have it. I can certainly see how it could progress to pneumonia for some (age, existing health issues). I have escaped it so far. I attribute that to my regular use of turmeric paste (google that one). Turmeric is a wonder food. Anyone, who is out shaking hands with the public, or works with the public should be extra vigilant with regard to fluid intake, rest, stress reduction, and eating properly (rich in antioxidants), etc.
It’s hayfever season here in the atlantic southeast. My asthma is kicking up and I might have a touch of Pneumonia as well.
Trump: All the Dems are unfit to serve/live. They are giving diseases to all regular hard working Americans. They shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
Oh for heaven’s sake, I would venture to guess that more than half of the country has had pneumonia and didn’t even know it. They probably thought they had a bad cold and cough until they finally went to the doctor, me included. This issue will not hurt Clinton in the long run. She just has to figure out a way to bump up her favorables and reduce her unfavorables. It is a shame so many people aren’t enthusiastic about the candidates running because competency and best candidate is how we should be selecting our candidates and in that scenario she wins hands down,
I had a case of what turned out to be bronchitis that being a dumb male I ignored until it got to the point I couldn’t speak a complete sentence without a hacking cough. When I finally went to the Doctor, he took one listen to my “crackling” lungs, then he went out and had all the other doctors and nurses in the office to come in and take a listen. He said it was the worst case of bronchitis he had ever heard where the patient wasn’t hospitalized. Antibiotics and rest, and all was good.
My point is, sometimes we try to ignore what our bodies are trying to tell us, I can see where HRC was probably doing the same.
