JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Police say a cache of weapons has been found inside a van that was stopped at the Holland Tunnel, which connects New Jersey to New York City. No link to terrorism is suspected.
Two men and a woman in the van were taken into custody. It wasn’t immediately clear what charges they may be facing or where they were being held.
Joe Pentangelo with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police says officers stopped the van Tuesday morning in Jersey City for a cracked windshield.
A subsequent search uncovered multiple weapons in the vehicle, including rifles and handguns. Some were loaded. Further details about the vehicle’s contents weren’t immediately disclosed.
Pentangelo said the investigation is ongoing, but authorities don’t believe it has any link to terrorism.

If these three people were Muslims six different police agencies would have converged and closed the Holland Tunnnel, every foot of it getting searched and dog-sniffed both sides, the entire length.
More responsible gun owners! Loaded weapons in a car? Hope they are subject to road rage.
They’re just transporting weapons for run-of-the-mill criminals and patriots in need of illegal magazines.
Are there ways to link weapons to the original seller and buyer? The chain of custody of these firearms might prove interesting. It might also be interesting to sweat everyone associated with these particular guns as an object lesson for needing proofs of purchase for each gun transaction and prompt reporting to authoritys when guns are misplaced or stolen.
OK, as long as they aren’t on the Terror Watch List it’s OK. Phew, we really dodged one there!
And they thought they were being soooo inconspicuous…
