The special counsel has requested that the House intelligence committee provide an official transcript of GOP operative Roger Stone’s testimony, the Washington Post reports.

In an email to TPM, Stone called the move “Adam Schiff’s wet dream,” before suggesting that the investigation was focused on “perjury traps.”

The step suggests that an indictment of Stone may be impending. Former federal prosecutors told the Washington Post that the Mueller investigation would need an official copy of the transcript to charge him with lying to Congress.

Stone testified before the committee in September 2017.

The longtime Republican provocateur has emerged as a key figure in the Mueller investigation, in part because of his apparent advance knowledge of the contents and timing of Wikileaks’ release of hacked emails from Clinton campaign chair John Podesta’s account.

Stone stated both publicly and privately that Wikileaks was planning to release material on Podesta, and is shown trying to establish contact with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Mueller is reportedly also investigating Stone for alleged witness intimidation involving New York comedian Randy Credico.
