With 10 percent percent of the vote in, Donald Trump’s lead looks to be insurmountable and he is expected to win the Rhode Island Republican primary.

Trump has been leading in the state in recent polls with a Public Policy Polling survey showing him with a 38-point lead.

Trump held a rally in the state Monday before the primary where he mocked Ohio Gov. John Kasich for his sloppy eating habits on the trail. Kasich is trailing far behind but is in second place in the state.

The question now is whether Trump can win a big enough victory in Rhode Island to take a lot of delegates off of the table. As Politico reported Tuesday morning, keeping Cruz from reaching 10 percent in the state would deny him any delegates. The process for allocating delegates in Rhode Island is complicated and proportional so the more of a vote share Trump can win, the better his chances of limiting the delegate gains by his rivals.
