Trump Jabs Ryan For Refusing To Back Him: ‘What Is This About Unity?’

Donald Trump on Friday morning said he was not bothered by House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) refusal to support him, but the presumptive Republican presidential nominee took a swipe at Ryan for calling for unity while also declining to get behind the party’s nominee.

“I was really surprised by it. And it’s fine. He can do whatever he wants to do,” Trump told “Fox and Friends” when asked about Ryan’s lack of endorsement.

Trump later referred to Ryan’s Thursday comment that Republicans must “unify the party” and that “the bulk of the burden of unifying the party will have to come from our presumptive nominee.”

“He talks about unity, but what is this about unity?” Trump asked on Fox. “With millions of people coming into the party, obviously I’m saying the right thing.”

The real estate mogul also jabbed Ryan on Twitter Friday morning by referencing Ryan’s remark on Thursday that Trump “inherits something very special” as the party’s presumptive nominee.

Trump’s remarks Friday came after a Thursday statement in which he said he’s “not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda” either.

“Perhaps in the future we can work together and come to an agreement about what is best for the American people,” he said in the Thursday statement. “They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first!”

Trump also confirmed that he is going to meet with Ryan on Capitol on Wednesday.

Trump also claims to have earned his inherited wealth. But then so does Ryan.

  2. So now it’s a dictatorship? Or no ‘unity’? Uh huh.

  3. …or is that Trumpty Dumpty?
    bwwwahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  4. It’s going to get a lot worse before the convention and after. The GOP leadership will be flipping and flopping with every insult The Donald flings at another demographic. They are going to look so dysfunctional that even Palin will look like one of the party’s most sage counselors.

How do you unite Jews with Nazis? How do you unite blacks with the KKK? How to you united Planned Parenthood with rapists? Native Americans with Columbus? Hispanics with John Wayne? Muslims with the Christian Wrong?

Trump unites all those groups as either bigots or refugees from the Republican Party.
