Asked to address “the elephant not in the room,” as Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly described Donald Trump’s boycott of Thursday’s Republican presidential debate, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) offered his best Trump impersonation.
Cruz began his response to Kelly’s question about the “message” Trump’s boycott sends by praising Iowan voters.
“Now, secondly, let me say I’m a maniac and everyone on this stage is stupid, fat, and ugly. And Ben, you’re a terrible surgeon,” Cruz said, getting awkward laughter from fellow candidate Ben Carson.
“Now that we’ve gotten the Donald Trump portion out of the way…” Cruz said as he moved on from his impersonation routine.
Kelly pressed him on his change of tone regarding the real estate mogul.
“I have not insulted Donald personally and I don’t intend to,” Cruz said, praising the “enthusiasm” Trump has generated.
“There’s a difference between going into the mud with ad hominems. Policy and vision and record should be the meat of politics. That’s fair game … that’s where I’m going to focus,” Cruz said.

That pretty much nailed it.
If that isn’t an ad hominem attack, I sure would hate to see one. Actually, maybe I would…
Vomit hell.
What a weasel. I’d respect him for revealing what Trump really is, except he goes right back and says he never insulted Trump.
I seriously hate Ted Cruz. The guy clearly has no principles, and is willing to lie about what he said literally the sentence before.
Carson isn’t fat or ugly and Paul isn’t fat. Otherwise, he’s right.
