White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Thursday declined to discuss whether President Donald Trump has discussed the family business with his sons since taking office.

During the daily press briefing, a reporter noted that Eric Trump recently told Forbes that he planned to give his father regular updates on the financial situation of the family business.

Asked if Trump had received such an update from his sons since taking office, Spicer said, “I don’t know if they’ve spoken.” He suggested the reporter reach out to the Trump Organization.

Spicer said that Trump has been following guidance from the White House counsel’s office.

“I think everything that he’s done is in accordance with what the counsel’s office and the ethics folks—” he said before the reporter jumped in with a follow-up question.

The reporter noted that Trump had said he would not speak with his sons about the business.

“Again, I think everything that is being done in terms of reports or updates is being done in a consultation with the council’s office,” Spicer said in response.
