The soldier who was shot by a gunman Wednesday morning while standing guard at the Ottawa War Memorial has died.

Employment and Social Justice Minister Jason Kenney confirmed the soldier died of his wounds, according to the Toronto Sun and the Ottawa Citizen.

Kenny also referenced a wounded Parliamentary guard or guards in his tweet. Globe and Mail reporter Josh Wingrove tweeted that a House of Commons security officer confirmed that two Parliamentary guards were shot at:
