Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) on Thursday said that the international community does not take Secretary of State John Kerry or the United States seriously.
“Without firing a single missile, President Reagan actually brought down the Soviet Union, and you’ve got right not a President who’s you know, John Kerry’s flying around and drinking merlot with people, and saying, ‘Let’s all be friends,’ and they’re laughing at us right now,” he said.

Republicans have been critical of the Obama administration’s policy toward Russia since President Vladimir Putin inserted troops into Ukraine.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Sunday that “we have a weak and indecisive president that invites aggression.” Graham also blamed the situation in Ukraine on how President Obama handled Benghazi.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) also remarked in February that “the naiveté of Barack Obama and John Kerry is stunning.”
