Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said in an interview aired Sunday that he was thankful to Bill Clinton for serving as his “psychoanalyst.”
Clinton suggested that Sanders’ questioning the qualifications of his wife, Hillary, for the presidency had “subconscious,” double standards because she was a woman.
“Well, I appreciate bill Clinton being my psychoanalyst. It’s always nice,” Sanders responded on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Sanders continued saying the Clinton campaign had become “very negative” and “about to beat us up.”
“And I just want them to understand that, you know, we have tried to run an issue-oriented campaign, but that we are not going to be attacked every single day. Our record is not going to be distorted,” Sanders said. “We are going to fight back.”
