Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) appeared on “Saturday Night Live” alongside his doppelganger and host of this weekend’s late-night comedy show, Larry David.
The skit took place on a sinking ship and David’s character couldn’t understand how he, as a wealthy man, wasn’t given a spot on the life boats with the women and children. Then, Sanders came on the scene.
“We need to unite and work together if we’re going to get through this,” Sanders argued.
“Sounds like socialism to me!” David said.
“Democratic socialism,” Sanders responding, saying there was a “yugeee” difference between the two.
Sanders was on the program for a little more than a minute.
Watch the skit:
I didnt watch the show but I watched the skit replayed and Bernie waa great. He did far better than HRC and I say that because he was funny and she wasn’t.
They missed the obvious opportunity to do a Waldorf and Stattler sketch…
I have never seen one
So, there, now he’s explained the democratic socialism thing. You all can stop it with the hand-wringing.
This was very funny, along with his skit about his campaign…TOTALLY hilarious.
