Samuel L. Jackson released a radio ad with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Friday aimed at getting Atlantans to the polls on Tuesday.

Though the ad doesn’t mention him by name, Democrat Jon Ossoff stands a decent chance against a crowded field in the Sixth District’s special election “jungle primary” on April 18. If no one candidate earns more than 50 percent of the vote next week, the two top candidates will compete in a June run-off vote. The Cook Political Report recently called the race a “toss-up.”

“Hi, I’m Samuel L. Jackson,” the actor says in the add, which CNN reported will run on urban radio stations in the Atlanta market from Saturday through Tuesday. “There’s a special congressional election on April 18. What can you do? Go vote! Your vote goes a long way towards setting things right in this country. Vote for the Democratic Party.”

“Stop Donald Trump, a man who encourages racial and religious discrimination and sexism,” Jackson continues. “Remember what happened the last time people stayed home. We got stuck with Trump. We have to channel the great vengeance and furious anger we have for this administration into votes at the ballot box. Do your friends and family a favor. Hell, do yourself a favor and vote on April 18, and make sure to vote for the Democratic Party.”

Yes, that’s a “Pulp Fiction” reference.

Money has poured into all sides of the race from out-of-state. Ossoff’s campaign reported recently that it had raised 8.3 million through March 29.

  1. I just hope that it ends with a question for Trump:

    “Who’s in your wallet?”

  2. Zed: “Bring out the GOPer.”

    Maynard: “GOPer’s sleepin’.”

Zed: “Well, I guess you’re gonna have to go wake him up now, ain’t ya?”

  3. I wish the ad had said, “There’s only one Democrat in the race.”
