Inside R.T. Rybak is a belligerent, crack smoking mayor screaming to get out.

The outgoing Minneapolis mayor joked Thursday that as the hours tick down on his time in office, he’s struggling to contain his inner-Rob Ford.

“Only a couple hours left,” Rybak tweeted. “Must…suppress…inner…Rob…Ford.”

Rybak will be replaced Thursday by fellow Democrat Betsy Hodges. While he was a more stable (and sober) mayor than Ford, Rybak’s time in office still had plenty of colorful moments.

He crowd surfed at concerts, shared poems on Twitter and somehow managed to serve out his 12-year tenure without barreling over other lawmakers.
