Elisabeth Hasselbeck lashed out Wednesday at her old nemesis Rosie O’Donnell upon learning that the comedienne was poised to make a return to “The View,” where the two famously sparred on-air years ago.

You didn’t think the outspoken O’Donnell was going to let that slide, did you?

O’Donnell initially offered a brief response Wednesday on Twitter after “Entertainment Tonight” posted a link to a story about Hasselbeck’s criticism.

Hasselbeck interrupted her own vacation from “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday morning to comment on reports that O’Donnell was close to returning to the daytime talk show.

(ABC made it official on Thursday.)

“What could ruin a vacation more than to hear news like this?” Hasselbeck said in her phone call to her colleagues on “Fox & Friends.” “I know Rosie very well. We worked quite closely. Talk about not securing the border.”

Hasselbeck also repeatedly said that O’Donnell has shown disrespect to the United States military, an allusion to their 2007 on-air blowup over the word “terrorist.” The tirade led to O’Donnell’s premature and ignominious exit from the show.

Hasselbeck went on to explain O’Donnell’s prominent role at a farewell show in April for Barbara Walters, the longtime television personality and host of “The View.” According to Hasselbeck, O’Donnell told her that she produced that particular program.

O’Donnell later addressed those points in subsequent tweets, telling another Twitter user that Hasselbeck “was hiding in her dressing room” at Walters’ send-off. In another tweet, O’Donnell questioned whether Hasselbeck has actually “donated any money to the armed services.”
