Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) will run for reelection in 2014, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

“He’s decided,” a source in contact with Rangel told the Daily News. “He’s running.”

Rangel has not officially announced his bid, but told supporters in an email why he would want to run again.

“As I look to the future, it is clear to me that our country is at a crossroads – there is great opportunity over the next 3 years, with this president, and with a nation that in election after election is choosing progress over intransigence, reasonableness over extremism, to finally achieve some of our longest held goals,” Rangel wrote. “But we must decide if we can hold our resolve and continue to push for the policies that we know are moral and right.”

He told the Daily News earlier in December that he will announce his decision before Christmas.
