Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) went after the recently released House Intelligence Committee report on Benghazi suggesting, along the lines of other Republicans, that the report may have not told the whole story of what really happened or even was incorrect.

Paul made the argument in a piece published by Breitbart on Monday in response to the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee releasing a report saying “no intelligence failure” prior to the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. “This one sentence tells us how seriously we should take this report,” Paul wrote.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have both expressed skepticism about the findings of the report. Graham said the report was “full of crap.”

Paul asked in the piece whether the report was “perhaps not telling the full story?”

“Multiple highly-respected news outlets reported on arms possibly being smuggled from Libya to Syria, before and after the attacks on Benghazi,” Paul said. “Were all the stories fabricated? Or did they contain some useful or pertinent information related to this investigation?”

Paul made sure to direct some of his criticism at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton which will only add to speculation that Paul is planning to run for president in 2016. He then went on to suggest that the Obama administration was using “smoke and mirrors” to escape getting blamed for Benghazi. Here’s the key part of the piece:

From the beginning of this controversy, Obama officials have used smoke and mirrors at every opportunity to evade blame. They have ducked and weaved to avoid anything that could possibly cast the administration in a bad light.

“C.Y.A.” is a term many Americans are familiar with that was invented by U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War. This new Benghazi “intelligence” report is little more than a C.Y.A. attempt designed to protect incompetent politicians and government agents at the expense of justice for the victims of September 11, 2012.

They will continue to cover up. I will continue to seek the truth until those at the top of this two-year chain of deception are finally held accountable.

  1. Well, I’m beginning to have doubts myself … because, after all, Rand Paul is an expert at not telling the whole truth.

Yes. Do you really not understand how the MSM fucking works now, shit for brains?

“This new Benghazi “intelligence” report is little more than a C.Y.A. attempt”

WTF? What part of GOP/TEATROLL CONTROLLED House Intel Committee doesn’t he understand?

  3. Senator Paul misunderstands the origin of CYA as he also does the Benghazi affair.

  4. Rand Paul Suggests GOP Report On Benghazi May Not Be 'Telling The Whole Truth'

Because Rand Paul knows full well what notorious liars Congressmen, and especially Republican Congressmen, are.

This is just pure projection. Rand Paul knows if he were in a tough spot he’d be lying so he assumes everyone else would do the same thing.
