Republican presidential candidate and Sen. Rand Paul (KY) said on Thursday morning he’s over his rival Donald Trump and thinks Americans don’t want a “buffoon who insults women and calls them ugly.”

Paul and Trump have sparred at both GOP debates.

And Trump kicked off CNN’s Republican presidential debate Wednesday night with jabs at Paul.

“First of all, Rand Paul shouldn’t even be on this stage. He’s number 11. He’s got 1 percent in the polls and how he got up here — there is far too many people anyway,” Trump said.

Trump has gotten into hot water for his comments on women. Paul addressed his rival on Fox News the morning after the debate and called Trump “sophomoric.”

“Nobody in America wants some sort of buffoon who insults women, and calls them ugly. Nobody wants that,” Paul said on Fox. “The first time people hear that, some people will laugh at sophomoric jokes and they have for a few months now. But I think the laughing is over and now it’s almost become pitiful. I think it’s at the point where people are ready to move on.”
