President Obama announced that the Obamacare marketplace saw 670,000 people sign up for coverage Thursday, its biggest open enrollment day ever.
“Yesterday was the biggest day ever for Healthcare.gov. More than 670,000 people signed up to get covered, and more are signing up by the day,” Obama said Friday during his introductory remarks at his year-end press conference.
The Department of Health and Human Services had announced Thursday evening that the open enrollment deadline for Jan. 1 coverage had been extended two business days, citing “extraordinary” demand.
The enrollment boost comes as Republicans are working on their plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act in the new Congress next year, with GOP leaders signaling it will be their top priority January.
Republicans, oblivious to the 21st Century (or even the 20th, in many cases) don’t realize that they are cutting their own throats. Keep at it, guys!

I am missing him so much … already —
The backlash the GOP/Teatrolls are generating for themselves is going to be epic. Patience…breathe deep…breath slowly…patience…calm…patience…
Just more people for the GOP to kill.
Explain this Speaker Ryan - why is the first priority (along with a big deficit exploding tax cut) for your Congress? I hope you realize that with Obama’s veto for you to count on - your reputation (on the right) as a serious Policy guy - and a guy with concern for - just different answers - issues related to poverty … the mask will be pulled away. It won’t be pretty - as Ayn Rand really has a dated, harsh and cruel look.
