Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had some advice for his fellow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday.
“Run for President, but don’t be the world’s biggest jackass,” Graham said during an interview on “CBS This Morning.”
“I’m not looking for him to drop out,” Graham said on CBS. “I’m looking for him to be a responsible member of the 16-member primary party.”
Graham was responding to some of the wilder statements Trump has made during his brief campaign, including disparaging Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. Trump has also described Mexican immigrants as rapists and drug runners.
“It’s not good to say that John McCain is a loser because he was captured in a time of war. It’s not good to say that 11 million illegal immigrants are rapists and drug dealers when they’re not,” he said on CBS.
The attention surrounding Trump, in part fueled by the media, Graham said, “is turning into a circus.”
“I’m worried more about the Iran nuclear deal than Donald Trump,” he said on CBS before the conversation turned away from Trump and the 2016 election.
Video from CBS:
Oh Lindsey…Jon Stewart said it better last night.
Too late, Lindsey. Too late.
Not what he said, Linz. I’m no Trump fan but he called McGrumpy Pants a loser because he was … well … a loser in his campaign against Obama.
“The media” has been a circus for most of my adult life. Long before Trump ever considered throwing his hair into the ring.
He made these comments…then Trump gave his cell number out?
Is that right?
