Larry Wilmore Makes Joke About Ferguson Police, Gets Pulled Over (VIDEO)

“The Nightly Show” host Larry Wilmore announced on Thursday that the Department of Justice had found racism in Ferguson, Mo., noting that “they also found bear crap in the woods.”

“The Ferguson police go out of their way to arrest us,” Wilmore said. He rolled tape of Attorney General Eric Holder summing up the DOJ’s report on racial bias in Ferguson’s police department, including a piece about black residents charged under “manner of walking along roadway.”

“It reminds me of that old standup joke: white people walk like this,” he said, pretending to stroll down the street.

“But black people walk like this!” he said, but before he could even begin police sirens blared as blue and red lights flashed behind him.

Wilmore’s smile disappeared and his hands shot up.

“I’m doing a bit!” he shouted. “I’m doing a bit!”

  1. Did anyone else read this headline and description and think that Wilmore, you know, actually got pulled over by cops while doing an on-location bit about Ferguson?

They should have added “You Won’t Believe What Happens In The Seventh Minute!”

  2. I’ve been watching Wilmore this week. He is really funny. Candidate to replace John Stewart?

  3. Yeah I was expecting an actual street scene but the bit was good.

  4. Christ, I hope not. What he’s doing, in the format he’s doing it, is so good, why change it? The Nightly Show is the best thing on TV, especially the panel discussion. So, again, why change that?

  5. Unfortunately, it will likely get darker (no pun intended) before the light shines through.
The cops aren’t just going to give up their dominion over the people that they rule, er-I mean serve and go back to being the servants and peacekeepers as per their purpose. That’s no fun and they wouldn’t get to play with the lethal toys and of course, living witnesses aren’t so likely to tell the same story as the cops so the shoot to kill first attitude isn’t just going to wash away.

There needs to be a mass firing and overhaul of the police nationwide, not just a few tossed out that should obviously never have been allowed in the first place.
