The new Texas state senator replacing Wendy Davis made a point of wearing cowboy boots on her first day in office to troll Davis over her signature pink sneakers.

State Sen. Konni Burton’s (R) boots were emblazoned with the phrase “Stand for Life.”

Burton posted a photo of the boots on her Facebook page and referenced the pink sneakers Davis, who lost her bid for governor in November, wore during the 13-hour filibuster over an abortion bill that brought her to national attention.

  3. Why are almost all Republicans so damn petty in everything they do? It’s not enough that Davis lost handily and you have her old seat, you also have to go out and buy a pair of hideous boots in order to mock her. Clown!

  5. I remember that GWB had boots with the Presidential seal attached on about the same location of his boots. He wore them for the Whitehouse Christmas picture.

It’s gotta be a Texas thang.
