Appearing alongside former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Tuesday, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis was met with a hero’s welcome in a rally outside the county detention center where she was jailed for six days.
Davis walked on stage to the stadium rock staple “Eye of the Tiger” shortly after her release from jail. While her lawyers have said she would not comment on the pending case, an emotional Davis gave a short address to the crowd.
“I just want to give God the glory…You are a strong people!” she said. “Keep on pressing.”
Huckabee was the other undisputed star of the rally, hugging Davis and commending the Rowan County clerk for her courage. A statement from the Republican’s campaign said after meeting with Davis on Tuesday, Huckabee “escorted her out of jail.”
During the rally, Huckabee quoted Forrest Gump (“God showed up”) and vowed to go to jail in Davis’ place, saying he’s “willing to spend the next eight years in jail,” if need be.

I wonder if that same crowd will be there tomorrow to cheer her on when she goes back to jail?
I really hate that stupid song.
As wing-nut welfare kicks in.
I’ve been saying this for ages now: these people don’t use themselves to glorify God, they use God to glorify themselves.
This woman is exhausting. She’ll be back in jail before the weekend. But at least Cruz and Huckabee are hitching their wagon to her star; they’ll look as stupid as she does when she defies yet another court order.
Say what you will about most people, even a lot of those who agree with her position. They know you don’t just go around disobeying direct court orders. Her well of sympathy should soon run dry.
Apparently the Soggy Bottom Boys weren’t available.
