House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) addressed his recent comments about the Benghazi committee again on Wednesday, urging people to “stop playing politics.”
McCarthy last week touted the House Select Committee on Benghazi’s success in hurting Hillary Clinton, prompting outcries from Democrats that the committee was formed for political reasons.
“Let’s be very clear: Benghazi is not political,” McCarthy said when asked about his comments at a press conference with House leadership, according to National Journal. “It was created for one purpose and one purpose only: to find the truth on behalf of the families of the four dead Americans. Period.”
“The integrity of Trey Gowdy, the integrity of the work that has been done has never come into question and it never should be. Stop playing politics,” he continued.
When asked if he misspoke, McCarthy said, “I could have been more clear in my description of what was going forward, and I’ve stated that,” according to National Journal.
Since making his initial comments last week, McCarthy has made numerous attempts to clarify his remarks.
I’m still not clear. Could he please clarify his comments about the committee and Hillary’s poll numbers again for the umpteenth time?
ITs Disgusting TYPICaL as USUAL LIBtards PLAYIng POLITIcs oVER TRUE facts THAT THE Benghazi COMMITEE was formed to INVEstigaTE CLINTon’s USE OF A PRIVATE server TO READ CLASSIFIED documents AND not TO UNDerMINE her POLTICALLY AT whatever cost.
Yeah, stop it. This is a serious investigation and the GOTP never plays politics.
This is a continuation of the Whitewater-Lewinsky investigation which will lead to uncovering who really killed Kennedy.
Between Alan Grayson calling the GOP’s bluff, Ben “Chocolate Envelope” Carson and now this, I’m never going to get any work done today with all the giggles.
This just KEEPS. GETTING. BETTER. hahahaha
Trey Gowdy’s integrity has never been called into question in the past, and it should never be called into question in the future, so stop calling it into question in the present? Is that what he’s saying? Trippy, man.
