Place one Cuomo brother as governor of New York, and the other as a co-host on CNN’s morning show “New Day,” and you’ve a recipe for TV that even Jon Stewart can’t watch without laughing.

On Tuesday night the host of “The Daily Show” took a recent appearance of New York Gov. Cuomo (D) on “New Day” to compile all the times he has razzed his younger bother Chis Cuomo, who hosts the show.

The latest hazing was an interview about two escaped murderers from New York who broke out of prison and remain at large.

“Now you’re surely saying to yourself, it’s not like the executive of America’s fourth most populous state is gonna take time during an interview about escaped murderers to give his brother shit,” Stewart said. “Well.”

After getting through the serious stuff, Gov. Cuomo joked to co-host Alisyn Camerota that he wanted to see his brother do a “long-term journalism piece” where his brother could stay locked in prison for about a year.

CNN cut to Chris Cuomo in studio, who looked not at all amused.

“That is a face that stopped being amused by this shit at age six,” Stewart said.

The next example had Stewart bursting out laughing in spite of himself.

  1. Well, nothing new there, but it pretty much confirmed my opinion of Andrew Cuomo being an obnoxious, arrogant, oblivious, self-centered dick. He really should be in the GOP.

  2. NIce marriage dig but he swallowed it…I’d recommend saying something like, “Enjoy that semi-homemade cooking!”

  3. So all firstborn siblings should be in the GOP? Cuz you know, a hell of a lot of the time, yeah, we just can’t resist tossing in a dig at the younger sibling. Should we try harder? Of course. Doesn’t mean we do.

  4. Aww. I hope Chris is actually in on it and his reaction is just part of the schtick.

  5. That’s a pretty radical re-interpretation of what I actually wrote. No, I think Cuomo should be in the GOP for screwing over unions & teachers, waffling for way too long on the fracking issue, and organizing a scheme after the 2012 election to flip some Democratic state senators to caucus with Republicans and undemocratically give the GOP control of the State Senate - despite the majority of votes and seats going to Democrats.

So, you know, being a shit to family (whether parent, child, or sibling, older or younger, was irrelevant to my previous comment) fits in well with, and thus confirmed, the opinion I already had that Cuomo is an asshole who belongs in the GOP.
